Pituitary Obesity

  1. Fat will be very soft and flabby.
  1. You will see extreme obesity in the following areas:

a.  Shoulders

b.  Upper arms

c.  Abdomen

d.  Trunk

e.  Hips

f.  Upper thighs
  1. Fat will not be deposited from the:

a.  collar bone up

b.  elbows down

c.  knees down

When you see this type of weight, it is most likely caused by the pituitary gland.  If it is underactive, the weight will be soft; if it is overactive, the weight will be firm, or solid.  Other glands may also be involved.
