How Pancreas and Blood Sugar Affect Obesity
|
The
Pancreas is a large tapered gland that is across and behind the
stomach.
Its main purpose is to secrete digestive juices that break down fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and acids as well as bicarbonate which neutralizes stomach acid as it enters the first section of the small intestine. There are also some cells in the pancreas that secrete hormones (glycogen and insulin) which regulate the level of glucose in the blood. Insulin regulates the use of glucose into all the body tissues, except the brain. |
The pancreas and the blood sugar are involved in ALL of the different glandular weights (adrenal, pituitary, thyroid, sexual glands---testes or ovaries). | |

| All of these affect all of the particular types of obesity that are caused from a particular gland and do not seem to be the cause of the weight in most cases; it is just an exaggeration of the other causes, whatever they might be. |
Digestive System and Eating Behavior will be discussed in another place.
